Iranian Parliament building and gathering in Tehran in 1906.

Iranian Parliament (Majlis), Tehran, 1906.

The Iranian Parliament in 1906 represents a pivotal constitutional aspiration: public authority subject to law and representative institutions. The image is important because it locates democratic transition within Iran's own history. The Round Table need not prescribe the final constitutional form; it can help Iranians examine how legitimate authority might again be built and transferred peacefully.
